The Alpha K9 U Boarding School Programs, also known as In-Kennel training (IKT), Board and Train, or K-9 Boot Camp, offers a convenient alternative to private, group, and in-home training. If you lack the initial time to devote to basic training, our Boarding School Program is the perfect solution. It's not just training, it's a 'jump start' on basic obedience, instilling a sense of hope and optimism, with personalized training tailored to your dog's behavior.
Basic Training Specs
Fifteen (15) Day Program:
The fifteen (15) day training program is geared towards reliable on-leash obedience from your dog, even when real-life distractions are present. Training is focused on behaviors such as walking on a loose leash; no pulling, sit on command, down on command, 2-minute sit-stay with the handler, 10-20 minute down-stay, "leave it” command, and recall (come when called on a 20-foot-long line/sit in front of the handler). Following the Board and Train program, your dog will be enrolled in the next available Obedience class to continue the training with the handler.
Twenty-one (21) Day Program:
The day training program is uniquely tailored to YOUR dog's specific needs. It is focused on behaviors such as heeling, heel with automatic sit, sit on command, down on command, 3-minute sit-stay (with handler 20' away from the dog), 30-minute down-stay, "place" command, "leave it" command, and Recall (Come/Sit in front of handler). This individualized program is designed to address any behavioral issues determined during the Meet and Greet Phase of the program. Our team of experienced and certified trainers have successfully helped owners/handlers remedy various issues, including puppy training/housebreaking, crate training, pulling on lead, not coming when called, crying in a crate, stealing food, jumping on people, jumping on furniture, running out of doors, etc. Following the Board and Train program, your dog will be enrolled in the next available obedience class to continue the training with the handler.

Know Before You Go
1) Please remember that drop-off and pick-up times are prearranged and should be strictly adhered to. This helps us maintain a smooth schedule to provide the best pet care.
2) Bring your pup's regular food labeled, including names & daily feeding instructions.
3) Rest assured, we take allergies seriously. Please inform us at check-in if your dog is allergic to certain treats/foods.
4) All medicines must be in their original container, including the dog's name, dosage, and number of times per day.
5) DO NOT BRING FOOD OR WATER DISHES, BED OR BLANKETS, OR TOYS—WE SUPPLY THESE ITEMS!
6) The one-on-one Exit Lesson, scheduled for the prearranged pick-up date & time, is a crucial part of our service. Please allow at least one (1) hour for this appointment.
7) Free enrollment in the appropriate obedience course will be prearranged & scheduled during the exit lesson.
8) We require a notice at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance to reschedule an exit appointment.
9) If you arrive late to the prearranged exit appointment (after fifteen (15) minutes), you will be charged an additional fee. We appreciate your understanding and respect for our Trainer's time. We have a late/cancellation policy for a reason!
